From brief to approved sample · Noida, India
Leather product development and sampling.
Hide Fashion develops leather jackets and leather bags from a buyer’s sketch, reference image, physical sample or tech pack at its factory in Noida, India. The team reviews materials and construction, develops the pattern, builds the sample and, once you approve it, manufactures the product under your label from 50 pieces a style.

What you can send to start.
A brief does not need to be finished. Any one of these is enough for the first review.
- A sketch or reference image
A drawing, a photograph or a link to a style you want to move towards. Mark what should stay and what should change.
- A physical sample
A jacket or bag the team can take measurements, construction and hand-feel from.
- A tech pack
Measurements, construction notes, materials and artwork in one document. The pattern is graded in-house from your size chart.
- A base style number
A factory-developed style from the jacket or bag pages, named by its style number, with the leather, finish, hardware and branding you want changed.
How a brief becomes an approved product.
Six steps, in this order. Each one ends with something you can check.
- 1. Feasibility review
The team reads the brief and replies within two working days from Noida with the development route and what is still needed to cost it.
- 2. Material choices
Leather type, weight, colour and finish are reviewed against the brief from the leather library, together with lining, hardware and trims.
- 3. Pattern
A jacket pattern is drafted, or adapted from the base style, and graded into the size system your market needs. For a bag, the dimensions, pocket layout, handle drop and reinforcement are set here.
- 4. Sample
A customised sample is built in the factory in 3 to 4 days. A sample from an existing base style takes 2 days. Shipping is separate and follows the carrier and route you choose.
- 5. Review and approval
You check the sample for construction, fit and leather. The changes you ask for are recorded against it, and the approved sample becomes the reference that bulk production is checked against.
- 6. Bulk production
The approved product moves through seven production stages: a 9-point in-line check at stitching, a 13-point finishing check and a 23-point final quality control by a separate team.
The numbers behind development.
Each is confirmed in writing at quotation for your style, leather and quantity.

What the approved sample fixes.
Approval records these decisions so that the bulk order repeats the sample.
- Leather
The type, weight, colour and finish chosen at step two, held for the order.
- Construction
Seams, stitch density, edge finish and panel layout, as built on the sample.
- Fit or dimensions
The graded size chart for a jacket. The measurements, handle drop and internal layout for a bag.
- Hardware and trims
Zips, snaps, buckles, rings and closures in the finish you specified, or from the supplier you nominated.
- Labels and branding
Woven labels, embossing, care labels and hang tags to your artwork and the labelling rules of the destination market.
- Packing
Fold or hanger, dust bag, polybag and carton specification for the route the goods will travel.
Where to go next.
Questions
Development and sampling: questions.
Anything not answered here is covered in the 30-minute product review.
Can you develop a leather product from a sketch or a photograph?
Yes. A sketch, a reference image, a physical sample or a tech pack is enough to start. The team reviews construction, fit and leather with you, develops the pattern and builds the sample before any bulk order is placed.
How long does a leather sample take?
A customised sample built to your brief is ready in the factory in 3 to 4 days. A sample from an existing base style is ready in 2 days. Shipping is separate and follows the carrier and route you choose.
What is the minimum order after the sample is approved?
Production runs from 50 pieces a style. The exact minimum for your product is confirmed at quotation, because leather availability, construction and hand-work change what a small run takes to set up.
What is the difference between OEM and private ODM development?
OEM development starts from your own design: a tech pack, pattern, sample or sketch. Private ODM development starts from a factory-developed base style, and you direct the leather, construction, finish, hardware and branding. Both ship under your label.
Will my design stay confidential?
An NDA is available before you share a design, and files sent through the enquiry form are received privately.
